The ship
The 67-foot ship reaches a top speed of 7.5 knots. It was built in 1990. Robert Swan purchased the yacht four years later and gave it the name ‘2041’.
The climate protection campaigner named his ship and his project after the year when the review of the Environmental Protocol of the Antarctic Treaty is due to take place. Climate protection campaigner Robert Swann is committed to preventing this unique natural environment from being opened up to the mining of minerals and extraction of fossil fuels in 2041.
